dads spagetti sauce with italian sausages

  • 6-8 GF Italian sausages

  • 2 TBSP olive oil

  • 1 large onion, chopped

  • 1 bulb of garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp dried basil

  • 1 tsp parsley

  • 1 tsp sea salt

  • 1/2 tsp pepper

  • 3 large ? oz cans of diced tomatoes with basil

  • 2 large cans of diced tomatoes roasted, (you can use any type of tomatoes but I like the added flavor of the roasted and with basil)

  1. Heat olive oil in an extra large pot on medium-high heat. Add sausages to the pan and brown all sides. Remove when done and set aside.

  2. Add more olive oil to the pan if needed to saute the onions in. Let onions cook until completely translucent, about 15 minutes. Add minced garlic to the pot cook for another minute or two.

  3. In a food processor, puree the cans of tomatoes one at a time, adding them to the pot after each can is pureed.

  4. Add in the basil, parsley, sea salt and pepper.

  5. Place the browned sausages back into the pot and lower heat to low, simmer for 4-5 hours, stirring ever 15 minutes so the sauce will not burn on the bottom.

  6. Sever over Cappalos Almond Flour Pasta or zucchini noodles.
